Fun in Idaho! (long one, sorry)

This past weekend, Trav and I drove up to Boise to spend some time with our good friend Alan. Trav met him while serving a mission in Boise and he is one of the few people he's kept in touch with. We drove up Friday and came back Sunday afternoon. On our way up, we realized we had only forgotten one thing...the camera. I was so bummed because we saw a ton of really cool stuff up there.

On our way to Boise, we stopped in Twin Falls to see the temple there. They have a huge gorge with a bridge you have to cross to get to the city. It is one of the few bridges in the U.S. that doesn't have a law against base jumping off it. We got to see some people jump. It was awesome.

We also stopped at the Anderson's in Wendell. Travis became really good friends with this family. This is the family he goes goose hunting with every winter. They are such wonderful people.

Friday night we met up with Alan (we stayed with him). Luckily, he has a spare bed because after driving all day, Little Buck was not happy. I've never been so uncomfortable in my life. He kept a foot in my rib the entire trip. At dinner I didn't eat much because he was wiggling so much and made me nauseated.

Saturday, we went to the Idaho history museum. It was interesting, but I learned more about Idaho than I ever wanted to know. They did have a two-headed calf and a stuffed animal replica that you could buy in the gift shop. I wanted to get Buck one but they were $12 (ripoff). We went to the newly renovated state capitol building, so cool, everyone should see it. Then did a little shopping.

Friday night we watched New Moon, the new twilight movie. Sorry, to all you twilight lovers, but I thought it was incredibly stupid. I think I might just be getting tired of twilight. Maybe I didn't like it so much because I watched it with two guys who made fun of Edward the whole time.

(side note: did anyone notice how bad an actor Robert Pattinson (Edward) is? We had to rewind several times because he mumbled the ENTIRE movie. And if he can read people's minds he shouldn't have been beat by the Volturi in the end because he would know what they were going to do before they did it. Dumb!)

Sunday we went to Sacrament meeting with Alan then headed home. We stopped in Bountiful to pick up my grandmother and take her to my parents house for a few days. We also went to my sister's house to celebrate my Daddy's birthday. I sure love my Daddy. He is a wonderful example of a disciple of Christ. He also keeps my hubby out of trouble (for the most part) in the garage with woodworking projects. Happy Birthday Daddy!!

That's it. We're still plugging along. Hope all well with everyone.

Crazy Week!

As with all pregnancies, I've been sick this last week. I had a tiny skin infection that I went to have removed last Monday and they wouldn't take it off until I was on an antibiotic for a week. This antibiotic was the worst I've ever taken. It made me so nauseated. I haven't thrown up my entire pregnancy until last week because of that stupid pill.

But, that isn't the exciting part of the week. After I got so sick they put me on an anti-nausea medication. I don't know what happened, but after I was put on them, Little Buck stopped moving, for over 24 hours. I was totally freaked out, I tried everything. He just wasn't my little jumper anymore. The doctor told me to go to labor and delivery.

So, Wednesday night Trav and I spent the evening at the hospital checking the baby out. And wouldn't you know it, as soon as they put those monitors on my stomach, Little Buck went crazy. He hates having stuff on him. They had to keep moving the monitors because they'd lose his heartbeat because he'd move. At times I thought he was trying to literally kick the monitors off. Well, my little jumper came back. Everything was fine, they said he was perfect. At least the trip was good for our peace-of-mind.

Even though the nurse at the hospital said it wasn't the medications I was taking, I went off the anti-nausea medication and have just lived with the yucky antibiotic (only 3 more pills). But isn't it just my luck that while on an antibiotic, I get stuck with a cold too. Figures.

Someone flipped a switch!

Another update on our crazy little baby. I think someone must have flipped a switch in my tummy a week or so ago because Little Buck won't give me any peace. The little guy just keeps doing somersaults and cartwheels in my tummy, he's also discovered how fun kicking me hard in the ribs can be. If you ever see me jump for no reason at all its because he just kicked me hard enough to scare the living daylights out of me. This morning I woke up at four (I usually sleep until 7) and Little Buck wouldn't let me go back to sleep because apparently he wanted to play. I'm just waiting for him to come out running.

Update

No pictures again. I find that as I get fatter, my desire to have my picture taken lessens more and more. Sorry. Today we had our official, doctor perscribed ultrasound for the baby. He is DEFINITELY a boy. We got a really good look this time. He is also a little stinker. He just doesn't like his picture taken because he was flipping over and turning around the ENTIRE ultrasound. He just would not hold still. I've found that he is a very, very active little boy. I am already feeling the bruises on the inside. He also would not let us get a profile this time, he kept both hands curled over his face the whole time so we never got a good look at how big his hands are either.

I've come to the conclusion that I don't like ultrasounds by professional technicians. They just don't want to give you any information. All I wanted to know was what we were looking at and it was like pulling teeth. The only information that she did offer without being asked was the fact that he has "big feet" They aren't fat, just very, very long. Travis says that comes from my side of the family.

So there you have it. Baby Buck has big feet and that is about all we really know at this point. Hopefully, nothing is seriously wrong especially since I found out I am super anemic. Scary! Love Ya'll.
